Gary Kielhofner Dr. Gary Kielhofner, DrPH, OTR, FAOTA is known worldwide for his work on the development of the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO). The MOHO was one of the first models in the field that considered the concept of time and used a systems approach that incorporated the use of biology, psychology, and social sciences to explain the way humans interact with their occupations.

Introduction. The Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) was first developed in the 1980s by Gary Kielhofner. Since then, other occupational therapists have also been involved in its further development, revision and refinement of the concepts.
